快接钎杆包括圆形和六角形两种形状，两端是螺纹，中间是中空的内孔，内孔的作用是作为水孔来使用，在钻井的过程中用于传输水和空气，钻杆两端的螺纹可以和连接套﹑钎尾﹑接头﹑钻头等连接使用。
重型钎杆的螺纹一般有R22, R25, R28, R32, R38, T38, T45 ,T51,ST58, T60等，钻杆的长度从600mm-6400mm.
